To run a collaborative Enterprise Design process, you need your co-creators to understand and produce Enterprise Design creations.

In this context:

Enterprise Design creations can be confusingly complex, technical, graphically ugly, and unclear. Such creations do not provide the user experience needed to make people participate.

Therefore:

You create visual models your audiences find pleasing and easy to connect to. You design models that are not only technically correct but also beautiful, elegant and minimalistic. You use pictures to get a more positive response than lines, boxes, process flows and stick figures do. You:

  • Tailor each creation for its target audience and its purpose (e.g. co-create, inform, describe, guide, learn, share, ...);
  • Present complex diagrams and concepts by introducing elements one at the time;
  • Make your creations as “simple to use as an iPhone”, and design them to be understood within seconds by non-specialists;
  • Test a few different visual options and get customer feedback from your intended audience;
  • Reduce the number of elements in the creation to the absolute minimum needed for its purpose - but not further;
  • Invite those that want to know more to approach you separately.

Consequently:

You now have creations everybody loves to use. Your creations provide an outstanding user experience that helps your co-creators. People are encouraged and enabled to collaborate and co-create, supported by a shared understanding of the enterprise.
